Sight for Surrey need Weekend Activities Volunteers to support their Teenager Recreational Programme as part of their Children and Young People’s Service.
Teenagers usually attend Sight for Surrey’s events without their parents and they rely on a small dedicated team of volunteers working alongside Sight for Surrey staff.
This involves supporting the young people at the event by providing sighted guide and clear communication support and assisting staff with a variety of tasks such as completing forms, preparing refreshments.
The Sight for Surrey Children and Young People’s Service team provide regular training to ensure volunteers have the skills needed for the role.
The recreation programme runs events at weekends and during school holidays.
