My Time for Young Carers is a charity providing fun activities for young carers aged between 7 and 16 who live in and around Epsom and Ewell, and Mole Valley.
The aim of My Time for Young Carers is to give young carers time to be carefree. At their sessions, members can forget their troubles, meet other young carers and have a great time. And it’s all free – fun, food and transport!
My Time for Young Carers are looking for volunteer Club Activity Helpers for their clubs in Dorking, Ewell, Fetcham and Leatherhead. Working alongside Session Leaders, Club Activity Helpers provide fun activities – games, sports, music, dance, arts and crafts are all included in the programme.
Volunteers don’t need experience, just a friendly personality, non-judgemental attitude and a sense of fun. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own skills and interests to the project for the benefit of the members.
Supporting young carers and volunteering with My Time brings with it so many positives, not least the opportunity to get experience of community work. This is an ideal volunteering opportunity for people considering a future career in teaching, youth or social work. Local students participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme are also encouraged to volunteer as Club Helpers.
