Aphasia Support Group Volunteer

Dyscover is a charity that provides support, encouragement, and opportunity to people with aphasia, a communication disorder often brought on by a stroke.

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting Dyscover’s members in conversation support groups and courses (which are led by speech and language therapists). These groups are designed to increase the member’s confidence, self-esteem and maximise their communication abilities.

In addition to face-to-face weekly groups in Leatherhead, there are now also online groups via Zoom which volunteers can support from their own homes.

Dyscover offer all volunteers initial and ongoing support and training.
